Organize your playlist

Importing gets your provider’s channels into EPGMaster. It doesn’t change them — your import stays exactly as it arrived. What you build on top is a playlist: your channels, your order, your numbers. You can build as many as you like from one import.

Step 1 — Create a playlist

From Library, find the source you imported and click Create playlist. Give it a name — this is how you’ll tell your playlists apart when you have more than one — and you land in the editor.

Step 2 — Add the channels you want

The editor opens with an empty playlist and an Add Channels panel. You have two ways in:

• Add a whole category at once. Each group from your provider has an Add allbutton — entertainment, news, kids, sports.
• Search for exactly what you want. Type a name or a category and add just those.

This is the part that makes the difference: you are not stuck with everything your provider sent. A few dozen channels you recognise beats three thousand you’ll never open.

Anything that came in without guide data can be matched from the same editor — look for the click to match… link in the TVG-ID column, or use Auto-match EPG to sweep the whole playlist.

Step 3 — Put them in the right order

Drag any row by its handle to move it. For channels you always want at the top or bottom, right-click the row and choose Move to top or Move to bottom instead of dragging the whole way.

One thing worth knowing: dragging a channel across a group boundary moves it into that group. If you only meant to reorder, drag within the block you’re already in.

Step 4 — Auto-renumber (the part people miss)

After all that reordering your channel numbers are a mess — gaps, duplicates, whatever order things happened to be added in. Click Renumber and EPGMaster rewrites them all at once. Two modes:

• Sequential— straight 1, 2, 3… from whatever start number you choose.
• By Group (100s)— each group gets its own block, so News starts at 100, Sports at 200, and so on.

The dialog previews every change before you commit — current number on the left, new number on the right. Hit Apply and the table settles into clean numbering.

This is the maintenance superpower. Every time you add a channel later, renumbering is one click instead of an afternoon of manual edits.
