Connect your player

Your playlist is built and your guide data is matched. Getting it onto a TV takes about a minute, and there are two ways to do it. Both start from Connect in the sidebar, or Connect to TV app in the playlist editor.

Way one — the two links (works everywhere)

EPGMaster gives you two URLs: one for your channels, one for your guide.

• The M3Ulink goes in your player’s playlist field.
• The EPG link goes in its guide or XMLTV field.

That’s the whole setup for any player that can read an M3U — a phone app, a set-top box, or a home media server like Emby, Plex or Jellyfin. This is the step people skip: the playlist gives you the channels, and the guide link is what fills them in. A playlist on its own gives you a list of names and nothing else.

Before you paste: media servers treat every line as a channel

Emby, Plex, Jellyfin and Channels DVR all turn everyentry in an M3U into a Live TV channel — there’s no live/on-demand split. If your playlist includes movies and series, a server like that will try to create tens of thousands of channels and its guide refresh will never finish.

The fix is one toggle. In the playlist editor, switch off Include movies and Include TV seriesbefore you paste the link. Your live channel count is unchanged; the feed just stops carrying the VOD catalogue. Players that handle VOD properly — TiviMate, IPTV Smarters and other Xtream clients — can leave both switched on.

Way two — one login (if your player supports it)

EPGMaster isn’t only producing files; it is itself an Xtream Codes server. In the Connect panel, create a player login and you get three values: a server URL, a username and a password.

In your player, choose the option named something like Login with Xtream Codes APIand enter those three. Channels, guide, and your movies and series library all arrive together — no links to copy at all.

Worked example — Emby

Emby is a good example because it needs both halves, explicitly. In the Emby dashboard:

• Live TV → Add TV Source → M3U, and paste the M3U link into File or url. Save.
• Add Guide Data Source, pick your country, choose Xml TV, and paste the EPG link into its File or url. Make sure it’s enabled for the tuner you just added, then save.
• Run Refresh Guide Data. On a curated playlist this takes seconds.

Open the guide and you should see the full grid: logos down the left, real programme titles filling the cells, and the groups you built showing up as category filters. Click a channel and it plays.

It keeps itself current

Set it up once. Your guide data refreshes every day without you re-exporting anything. If you change your playlist in EPGMaster — add a channel, rename one, reorder them — your player sees the new version on its next refresh.
